Privacy Policy: what CVBooster stores, and how to delete it

CVBooster is operated by DT Nova Tmi, a sole trader registered in Finland (business ID 3595452-5). Because we are established in the EU, this policy is written to meet the GDPR, and you can exercise every right it gives you by emailing us.

1. Introduction

At CVBooster, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our services at cvbooster.ai.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide when using our services:

Resume and cover letter content you enter, including your name, contact details and work history
Job descriptions you paste in to have a CV tailored
A random device identifier we generate in your browser, used to link your saved CVs to your account and keep them listed on the same device
Your email address and name from Google or LinkedIn when you sign in, and at checkout
Payment information, processed by Stripe. We never see or store card details.

4. Where Your Data Is Processed

Saved CVs are stored on Cloudflare infrastructure in the European Union. Two other companies process your data on our behalf:

OpenRouter — when you use an AI feature (tailoring, scoring, bullet rewriting, job matching or cover letters), the relevant resume text and job description are sent to a third-party AI model through OpenRouter to produce the result. Do not paste anything you would not want processed this way.
Stripe — handles payment and stores the billing details you give it directly.

5. Cookies

We keep this short, because we set very little.

Sign-in cookie (cvb_session) — set only once you sign in, and it is what keeps you signed in. Strictly necessary, so it needs no consent. Signing out removes it.
Google Analytics (_ga) — tells us which pages people find useful and where they stop. It loads on every visit. You can block it with a browser setting or extension and the site works exactly the same.
Counterscale — our own page-view counter, running on our infrastructure. It sets no cookies and does not identify you.
Browser storage — the random device identifier described above, the CV you are currently editing and your language are kept in your own browser so your work is still there when you come back. Clearing your browser data removes all of it.

6. Data Retention

You can use CVBooster without creating an account. When you build a CV we save it on our servers against the random device identifier described above, so it is still there when you come back. Saved CVs are kept until you delete them. You can delete any CV yourself at any time from the "My CVs" menu in the builder, which removes it from our database immediately.

Resume scoring results are kept for 24 hours. Records of completed payments are kept for 30 days so we can restore access if you lose it. Email addresses you give us are kept until you ask us to remove them.

7. Your Rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to erase it, and you can object to how we process it. Because we do not require accounts, the fastest route is to delete your CVs directly in the builder. For anything else, email support@cvbooster.ai and we will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi).
