Interviewer Resume: 6 Samples for Survey and Field Jobs

An interviewer resume shows that you can ask the same question the same way a thousand times, record the answer exactly, and keep people talking when they would rather hang up. This page is for the job where you do the interviewing: telephone, field, survey, market research and intake interviewers. Below are six complete samples from first job to field supervisor, checked in November 2026.

Nobody pictures the person on the other end of the survey call. Yet that person got a stranger to give ten minutes to a questionnaire at dinner time, and did it politely. That is a skill, and your resume should count it.

Example 1: a first interviewer job, call centre background

Start with what you already did that looks like interviewing: surveys, intake forms, phone work. Count calls and completed interviews.

What the sources say the job is

The U.S. Department of Labor's O*NET entry for interviewers describes the work as "Interview persons by telephone, mail, in person, or by other means for the purpose of completing forms, applications, or questionnaires." The listed tasks include "Review data obtained from interview for completeness and accuracy." and "Identify and resolve inconsistencies in interviewees' responses by means of appropriate questioning or explanation." Both are bullets waiting to be written: how many interviews you reviewed, and what you did when an answer did not add up.

For layout and targeting, MIT's career office says in its resume guide that "When applying for a job you want to build a resume that targets a specific position or employer." Harvard's career services, in its guide to a strong resume, says "Within headings, list information in reverse chronological order (most recent first)". An interviewer resume is simple: your recent interviewing work first, with counts.

What to leave out

Frequently asked questions

What should an interviewer resume include?

Contact details, a short summary, interview counts, completion or response rates, tools such as CATI or CAPI, languages and any confidentiality training.

Is this the same as a resume for someone who interviews job candidates?

No. This page covers the job of conducting interviews for surveys, research and intake. A hiring interviewer needs an HR or management resume.

How do I write an interviewer resume with no experience?

Use customer service, phone, retail or school survey work. Count the people you spoke to and the forms you completed accurately.

What skills do telephone interviewers need?

Following a script exactly, clear speech, typing speed, patience, handling refusals politely and accurate data entry.

Do I need a degree?

Usually not for telephone and field roles. A high school diploma is common, and research or health studies may prefer college study.
