Starbucks Resume Examples: 6 Samples From Barista to Manager

A Starbucks resume that gets a call is one page, opens with a headline that says which role you want, and fills every bullet with a number from a shift: drinks an hour, customers a day, people trained. The constraint is the system: you apply through the Starbucks Career Hub, and its own hiring process page tells applicants to "Review the job posting and connect your experience to its priorities." Below are six complete Starbucks resume examples, checked in October 2026, from a first job to a store manager, each tagged by level. Written by Mustafa Tarabya, who hired for his own company, read every application himself and now writes CVBooster's guides.
You have made four hundred lattes, closed the store alone on a Sunday and talked a regular out of a complaint before 7 a.m. Then the resume says "customer service skills". The person reading it has the same three words on every other application in the queue.
What Starbucks says it looks for on a resume
Starbucks publishes its own resume tips on the hiring process page, and they are unusually specific for an employer. Three of them shape every example on this page:
- "Writing a powerful introductory headline instantly communicates who you are and the value you bring to an organization."
- "Review the job posting and connect your experience to its priorities."
- "Include relevant experience that demonstrates your skills and impact."
The page also tells first-time applicants to include relevant experience even without a job history, and current partners to list Starbucks trainings. After you apply, it says "If selected, a recruiter or coffeehouse leader will reach out to schedule next steps", so the resume is read by someone who runs a store, not only by a recruiter.
Starbucks barista resume with no experience
The first job resume leans on school, volunteering and anything that looks like a shift: a concession stand, a club treasurer role, babysitting with a schedule. The headline names the role.

Starbucks barista resume from another coffee shop or restaurant

Starbucks barista job description for a resume
If you are a current or former Starbucks barista, do not copy the job description into your bullets. Starbucks itself warns against it: the hiring page asks applicants to "Highlight accomplishments and impact from previous roles" and to "Quantify results when possible". Take the duties O*NET lists for baristas, such as "Take customer orders and convey them to other employees for preparation", and attach what happened when you did them.
| Job description line | Resume bullet |
|---|---|
| Prepare beverages to standard | Made drinks on bar during a peak of about 100 orders an hour with no remakes flagged by the shift lead |
| Take customer orders | Ran drive-thru headset and register, keeping car times inside the store's target on weekday mornings |
| Maintain a clean store | Owned the closing checklist three nights a week and passed every food safety walk |
| Support teammates | Trained five new baristas on the drink build sequence during their first week |
Here is the whole experience section of a current barista written that way, ready for an internal move or a job outside the company.

Starbucks shift supervisor resume
A shift supervisor runs the floor, the cash and the people on a given shift. O*NET's entry for food service supervisors says they "Directly supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in preparing and serving food." Your bullets should show coordination, not your own drinks. Starbucks calls its employees partners, so a current partner can use the word; someone applying from outside should write team members. The supervisor resume examples show the same pattern for retail and restaurants.

How to tailor any of these to the posting
Read the posting twice and circle the nouns: drive-thru, mobile orders, coaching, cash handling. If a noun appears in the posting and is true about you, it belongs in your headline or your first two bullets. I wrote the job adverts for my own company and the applications that got a call were the ones that answered them point by point, not the prettiest ones. Start each bullet with a strong verb from the resume action verbs list, and if this is your first job, the first job resume guide covers the sections in more depth.
Frequently asked questions
What should I put on a Starbucks resume?
A headline naming the role, your availability if the job is hourly, and bullets that show volume and reliability: customers served, drinks made in a rush, shifts opened or closed, people trained. Add food safety, cash handling and any language you speak. Keep it to one page.
How do I write a Starbucks resume with no experience?
Use volunteering, school roles, sports and family responsibilities that ran on a schedule. Starbucks tells first-time applicants to include relevant experience that highlights skills and impact, so a concession stand or a food bank shift counts. Lead with a headline and your availability, then education.
Do I need a resume to apply at Starbucks?
The Career Hub asks you to upload a recent resume when you apply. For hourly coffeehouse roles a one page resume is enough. For shift supervisor and store leadership roles the resume carries more weight, because the store manager or recruiter reads it before deciding whom to call.
How do I describe Starbucks experience on a resume for another job?
Translate the Starbucks terms. Write "team members" for partners, name the volume you handled at peak, and list cash, food safety and training work in plain words. A barista who trained new hires and closed the store has supervision and cash handling experience any retail or office employer understands.
What skills should a Starbucks barista put on a resume?
Espresso preparation, drive-thru and mobile order handling, cash handling, food safety, opening and closing procedures, and customer recovery. Add a second language if you speak one. Keep soft skills out of the list and show them in bullets instead, with a number attached.
