Example of Marketing CV: 6 UK Marketing CV Samples by Level

A good example of a marketing CV opens with the channels you run and one result you can measure, then lists each role with the campaign, the budget or audience, and what changed because of it. The constraint is that every marketing CV claims creativity and strong communication, so yours has to show the work instead: the email list you grew, the cost per lead you cut, the launch you shipped on time. Prospects gives the practical starting point: "Look at job adverts to get a feel for the combination of skills and industry know-how that employers expect." Below are six complete marketing CV samples for UK jobs, checked in October 2026, tagged by level from marketing assistant to head of marketing. Written by Mustafa Tarabya, who hired for his own company, read every application himself and now writes CVBooster's guides.
Marketing is the one profession whose whole job is persuading strangers in a few seconds, and its CVs still open with "a passionate and creative marketer". It is like a chef sending a CV that says "enjoys food".
The first example is the CV most people searching for marketing CV samples need: a graduate going for a first marketing assistant job.

What a marketing manager reads first
Whoever is hiring reads the profile for three things: which channels you actually run, the size of what you run (budget, list, audience, number of campaigns), and one result with a number attached. Put all three in the first four lines. If the profile only says you are creative, results driven and a team player, the reader learns nothing about which marketing job you can do.
Channels matter because "marketing" covers very different jobs. Paid search, email, content, events, product marketing and brand are separate skill sets, and adverts usually want one or two. The National Careers Service profile for marketing executives notes a route in without a marketing degree: "You can apply directly to employers if you've got business and marketing skills." That makes channel experience, wherever it came from, the thing to lead with.
Then show results in the bullets. A result does not have to be a revenue figure. Open rate, cost per lead, sign ups, attendees, organic traffic, launch dates hit, all count, as long as they are true and you can explain how they were measured.

Marketing CV skills and keywords
Many marketing jobs come through recruitment agencies and applicant tracking systems before a hiring manager reads them. Use the advert's own words, the exact platform names and channels. Write "Google Ads" and "HubSpot", not "digital advertising tools" and "CRM software".
Prospects lists the skills employers look for, including "copywriting and design skills, with knowledge of important tools and software, including Microsoft Word, WordPress, Photoshop, and Canva." Common keywords for a marketing CV:
- Channels: email marketing, paid search, paid social, SEO, content marketing, events, PR, CRM
- Tools: Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, GA4, HubSpot, Salesforce, Mailchimp, WordPress, Canva
- Measures: conversion rate, cost per lead, cost per acquisition, return on ad spend, open rate
- Work: campaign planning, budget management, A/B testing, agency briefing, reporting
Only list tools you have used. A marketing interview often includes a task or a question about how you would run a campaign, and a platform you cannot talk through costs more than it gains.
What to leave off a UK marketing CV
The National Careers Service is clear: "You should not include your age, your date of birth, whether you're married or your nationality." Leave off a photo too; UK employers do not expect one, and it takes space from your results.
Cut the generic adjectives. Every line that says passionate, creative or results driven can be replaced by a result. Keep it to two pages: a graduate fits on one, a head of marketing uses two with older roles cut to a line each. If you have little marketing experience yet, Prospects notes that "If you don't have a degree or other formal qualification, you can enter the profession as a marketing assistant, where you can build up your skills and experience." Put any volunteer, society or freelance marketing first, as Emma does above.
For the letter that goes with it, see the marketing manager cover letter examples, and the targeted resume examples show how to rewrite a CV for one advert. For more UK layouts across other fields, see the CV examples, and if you are applying in the US, the marketing manager resume uses American format. Need a shorter version? Frequently asked questions
What should a marketing CV include?
Your contact details and LinkedIn, a short profile naming your channels and one measurable result, your experience with bullets that show the campaign, its size and what changed, your education and any CIM qualification, and a skills line naming the platforms you use. Keep it to one or two pages.
How do I write a marketing CV with no experience?
Lead with any marketing you have done for free: a society's social accounts, a friend's business, a charity newsletter, a personal blog with real readers. Give numbers for each, such as followers gained or emails sent. Add your degree or course, the tools you have used, and apply for marketing assistant or coordinator roles.
Should I include a portfolio on my marketing CV?
Yes, if you have work you can show. Add a link in the header to a simple portfolio site, a PDF, or a LinkedIn featured section with campaign examples, copy samples or reports. Content, social and design roles almost always expect one. Make sure every piece is your own work or clearly marked as a team project.
How long should a marketing CV be in the UK?
Two pages at most. Graduates and assistants usually fit on one side of A4, and experienced managers use two. Older roles can be cut to a single line with the title, employer and dates. A marketer who cannot edit their own CV to two pages sends the wrong message about the job itself.
Do I need a CIM qualification on a marketing CV?
No, but list it if you have one or are studying for it. The Chartered Institute of Marketing qualifications are common in UK job adverts as desirable rather than essential. Write the exact level, such as Foundation Certificate or Diploma in Professional Marketing, and mark it in progress if you have not finished.
