Accounts Receivable Resume Keywords: 60 Terms and 7 Examples

Accounts receivable resume keywords are the task, system and reporting words that hiring software and AR managers look for: invoicing, payment posting, cash application, collections, aging reports, reconciliation, DSO, and the name of the ERP you used. Below are 60 of them in six groups, then seven complete resume sections that use them in sentences, from AR clerk to AR manager.
The keyword that never helps is "detail-oriented." Every AR resume has it. The one that helps is a bullet showing you reduced 90+ day balances by a third. That is detail-orientation with a receipt.
Example 1: accounts receivable clerk

Entry level: Accounts receivable clerk (110 words)
Summary Accounts receivable clerk with one year of invoice processing, payment posting and customer account reconciliation in QuickBooks Online and Excel.
Experience Accounts Receivable Clerk, Danforth Supply Co., Louisville, KY | Sept 2025 to present - Create and send 300+ customer invoices a month from sales orders and delivery confirmations - Post check, ACH and credit card payments daily and match them to open invoices - Run the weekly AR aging report and send first past-due reminders at 30 days - Reconcile customer statements and flag discrepancies to the senior accountant
Skills: Invoicing, payment posting, AR aging, account reconciliation, QuickBooks Online, Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables), 10-key

Where these keywords come from
The safest keyword list is the government's description of the work, because job ads are written from the same tasks. The Bureau of Labor Statistics groups AR work under bookkeeping, accounting and auditing clerks and notes that accounting clerks' "titles, such as accounts payable clerk or accounts receivable clerk, often reflect the type of accounting they do."
O*NET's task list for bookkeeping, accounting and auditing clerks includes "Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records." Its list for bill and account collectors includes "Locate and monitor overdue accounts, using computers and a variety of automated systems," and "Receive payments and post amounts paid to customer accounts." Reconcile, monitor overdue accounts, post payments: if your resume does those things, use those words.

How to use the keywords
- Copy the job post's nouns. If it says cash application, do not write payment posting only. If it says collections, use collections.
- Put them in sentences. A skills list helps the search. A bullet with a number convinces the person.
- Name the system, once per job. In the bullet where you used it.
- Add one number per job. Accounts, invoices, payments, DSO, dollars, days.
