A CV for a warehouse operative in the UK is one clear page: your shifts and the work you did on them, the equipment you can use and the tickets you hold. Below are six complete warehouse operative CVs, from a first job to a team leader, checked in November 2026. Each one names the kind of site, the kind of work and the licences, so an agency or a shift manager sees straight away whether you fit the vacancy. If you are applying in the United States, see our American warehouse resume guide instead.
Most warehouse CVs say "hard-working team player" and stop. Every shift manager has read that sentence four hundred times, and it has never once told them whether you can pick a pallet. Put the work on the page.
Example 1: a first warehouse job, no experience
With no warehouse history, use what you have: weekend work, a school or college record, reliability and anything physical. Say you are available for shifts, and name the kind of work you want.

What the official sources say
The National Careers Service describes the day-to-day work in its warehouse worker job profile. It lists tasks such as: receive deliveries of goods, inspect paperwork and check for damaged or missing items, and pack, wrap and load items to be dispatched. It also notes that "Experience in warehouse, storage or delivery work can be useful." and that you might not need qualifications. So the experience line matters more than the education line.
The Health and Safety Executive explains in its guidance on manual handling at work: "Manual handling means transporting or supporting a load by hand or bodily force." If you have completed a manual handling course, put it in your tickets, with the year.
For forklift drivers, the HSE has a pocket card for lift truck operators which says: "It aims to help operators and those they work with to stay safe while working with lift trucks." Name your truck types, such as counterbalance, reach or VNA, and say who trained you.

How to lay out a warehouse operative CV
- Name and contact. Name, town, phone and email. Leave off the photo, date of birth and marital status.
- Profile. Two or three lines: the kind of site, your main tasks, your tickets and when you can start.
- Experience. Employer, site type, dates, then bullets about what you did: picking, loading, scanning, truck driving.
- Tickets and training. Forklift licence with the type and year, manual handling, first aid, fire marshal, IOSH.
- Availability. Shifts you can work and your right to work in the UK.
- Length. One page for most operatives. Two for a team leader.
For layout advice, see our guides on what not to include on a UK CV and a personal statement with no experience. For related job pages, see the warehouse worker resume, the warehouse associate resume and the warehouse supervisor resume.
What to leave out
- Vague team player lines. Name the task instead: picking, loading, scanning.
- Pick rates you cannot prove. Say you worked to the target, not an invented number.
- A forklift licence you do not hold. Employers check, and it is a safety matter.
- Reasons for leaving. Save those for the interview.
- Photos and personal details. UK CVs leave them out.
Frequently asked questions
What should I put on a CV for a warehouse operative?
A short profile, your work history with the tasks you did, your licences and tickets, and your shift availability. Add equipment such as handheld scanners, pallet trucks and forklift types.
What skills do I put on a warehouse operative CV?
Picking and packing accuracy, handheld scanning, manual handling, pallet truck and forklift operation, stock checking and health and safety, plus reliability and willingness to work shifts.
Can I write a warehouse CV with no experience?
Yes. Use weekend jobs, school or college, volunteering and reliability, mention manual handling training if you have it, and say you can start straight away.
How long should a warehouse operative CV be?

Is it CV or resume for warehouse jobs in the UK?
CV. American employers say resume, and an American warehouse resume has a different layout and different tickets from a UK warehouse operative CV.
