How to write a order picker resume
Picking is one of the few warehouse jobs where the employer already knows exactly what good looks like before you walk in. Every site has a rate target and an accuracy target, both are measured by the hour, and both are on a board that the whole shift can see. An order picker resume that does not put those two numbers on the page is arguing without evidence in a job that is nothing but evidence.
The second thing a fulfillment manager wants to know is which picking method you have worked. Voice directed picking, RF scan confirmation, pick to light, cart or tote based picking, batch picking and pallet picking are different physical rhythms with different error patterns. An experienced voice picker in a cooler is a specific hire, and the phrase warehouse experience hides all of it.

Format: one page, the two numbers near the top
One page, single column, ordinary font. High volume fulfillment employers screen automatically before any person reads, and elaborate layouts are discarded far more often than they are admired.
Put a performance line under the header carrying your rate against target and your accuracy, then the picking methods you have worked and the temperature zones you can handle. Those four facts decide whether the file goes to a supervisor, and they take one line.

Summary: rate against target, accuracy over time
Two or three lines. A rate on its own is meaningless because targets differ enormously between case picking in grocery and each picking in apparel, so always give the target next to your number. Picking a hundred and sixty five cases an hour against a hundred and forty target is a claim a manager can price.
Accuracy needs a period attached. Anyone can have a clean week. Accuracy held across a year, or across a peak season, is the statement that separates a steady picker from a lucky one, and peak is the period supervisors trust most because it is when errors normally spike.
Experience: method, product, zone, pace
Head each job with the operation type and the product: grocery distribution with case and pallet picking, apparel fulfillment with tote based each picking, industrial parts with small piece picking, pharmaceutical picking with lot and expiry control. Product decides the weight, the fragility and the verification rules, and a supervisor reads it as shorthand for what your hands are trained on.
Inside the bullets, give volume per shift or per hour, the verification you performed at each location, and the exceptions you handled. Short picks, damaged stock, wrong location, lot mismatch and expiry checks are the moments where a picker either protects the order or passes a problem downstream, and describing how you handled them shows judgment rather than speed alone.
Pallet building deserves a bullet if you did it. Building a stable mixed pallet by weight, crush rating and delivery sequence is a skill that prevents damage claims and reload work at the destination, and a grocery or beverage site will read that bullet closely.
Equipment and certifications: elevated picking is the differentiator
Order picker trucks lift the operator with the load, and the training for them is a real filter. If you are certified to pick at elevated heights, put it in the header area rather than a skills list at the bottom, because it moves you into a smaller applicant pool immediately.
List the rest of the equipment plainly: electric pallet jack, walkie rider, double pallet jack, cart systems. Note that operator authorization comes from the employer after a practical evaluation, and say you are ready for that evaluation. It signals that you understand how the certification actually works.
Zones, conditions and the honest physical picture
Cooler, freezer, ambient, hazmat and high value cage picking are separate labor pools with separate pay and separate turnover. Naming the zone you have worked, and how long a shift you worked in it, answers a question the site would otherwise have to ask in a phone screen.
Give the physical facts without drama: typical case weights, hours on your feet, whether you have worked ten or twelve hour shifts, and any lift assist equipment you have used. A picker who states case weights accurately is telling a grocery manager they will not lose the hire in the first week.

What if my site never told me my pick rate?
Use what you can defend instead: your place on the shift board, meeting standard every week without a coaching notice, or the number of batches you closed per shift. Then describe the verification habit you used at each location.
Is voice picking experience worth listing separately?
Yes. Voice directed picking has its own rhythm, its own check digit discipline and its own training curve, so a site running voice will prefer a picker who already thinks in it over one who has only used a handheld scanner.
Do I need certification to run an order picker truck?
You need employer training and a practical evaluation before you operate one, and that authorization comes from each employer rather than transferring with you. List prior training and say you are ready for site evaluation.
How do I show I can handle peak season?
Name the peak seasons you worked, the hours you ran during them, and whether your rate and accuracy held. Peak is when sites lose people and when errors climb, so surviving it well is the most persuasive thing on a picker resume.
Should I list packing or loading experience on a picker resume?
